SUVelo has been awarded the inaugural NSW Club’s Road Premiership! The award, part of Cycling NSW’s NSW Road Premiership, recognises our year of strong results and continued participation across Elite Men’s, Elite Women’s and Masters categories. The achievement reflects our commitment to development, the tireless efforts of our race team coordinators and team members and a passion for racing that pervades the club.
That passion was clearly reflected in the fact that SUVelo had twice as many members participate in events than other clubs. Sydney Uni Velo riders had more than 80 starts in premiership events against the ballpark 40 starts from Canberra CC, St George CC and Lidcombe Auburn CC which follows the trend of more starts leading to more likely success.
Canberra CC, Sydney Uni Velo Club and St George CC were the riders most seen on the Men’s start line. Sydney Uni Velo Club had an equally large presence on the Masters’ start line with Lidcombe Auburn CC and Penrith CC also showing in numbers. On the women’s line it was Canberra CC and Sydney Uni Velo Club colours that dominated and it has reflected in the placings.
