Battle of the Bridge

It’s on.

Epic interclub racing with men’s A, B and C grades and a separate women’s grade all involved in the battle for supremacy.

SUVelo is proud to be part of the inaugural Battle of the Bridge. Roar like a lion and stand up to represent your club as we battle it out with Randwick Botany, Manly Warringah and Northern Sydney for racing supremacy.

This new interclub series promises some great racing from West Head, to Heffron and Beaumont Road. Each club will have home ground advantage in one of the rounds: will home ground advantage be enough?

Run over four rounds, each club will be looking to collect points by having riders on the podium in grades A, B and C and a separate women’s grade. The clubs will be running their usual formats, and so for SUVelo (and RBCC) we will have the twisting and turning Heffron Park. Heffron Park is the spiritual home of racing for many riders in the east: can we protect our turf from the raiders from the north?

SUVelo also has a proud history of success at West Head and we will look to continue this. Beaumont Road will be an unknown quantity to many Lions, but that will not stop us. Each round will only be open to the 4 clubs within the series.

The dates for the four race Battle of The Bridge series are:

25th June – Randwick Botany, Heffron Park

10th July – Manly Warringah, West Head

21st August – Northern Sydney, Beaumont Road

28th August – SUVelo, Heffron Park
